Unreleased level from original Crash Bandicoot comes to N. Sane Trilogy remaster

A level created by Naughty Dog but ultimately cut from the original Crash Bandicoot is finally getting officially released, thanks to the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remaster.

Activision announced at San Diego Comic-Con today that the unfinished, unreleased Stormy Ascent level made for the 1996 original PlayStation game has been “remastered and updated” by Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy developer Vicarious Visions and is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. The level is available for free to owners of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the next 30 days, Activision said in a release.

Activision and book publisher Dark Horse also confirmed the release of The Crash Bandicoot Files: How Willy the Wombat Sparked Marsupial Mania, a 150-page hardcover book that details the development of the original game. The book includes Crash Bandicoot’s original design document, original concept illustrations, a foreword from Crash’s creators and more.
