Dishonored: Death of the Outsider trailer shows off a slew of new powers

Michael Madsen, Rosario Dawson return

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider will feature a new playable assassin, Billie Lurk, and you can check out her dazzling otherworldly abilities in the game’s first gameplay trailer.

[Warning: The following contains spoilers for Dishonored 2.]

Lurk debuted in Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall, the first expansion for the original Dishonored, as a lieutenant of the master assassin Daud; she also appeared in Dishonored 2 as Meagan Foster, the captain of the Dreadful Wale and an ally of the player. In Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, the character is voiced by Rosario Dawson. Michael Madsen and Robin Lord Taylor are also returning for Death of the Outsider, reprising their roles as Daud and the Outsider, respectively.

Unlike Dishonored 2, the smaller Death of the Outsider will not allow players to choose from two playable characters. It will return to the single-protagonist format of Dishonored, focusing on Lurk alone as she works with her old mentor, Daud, to kill the godlike figure known as the Outsider. As you can see in the trailer, Lurk comes with her own unique array of special abilities, including one in which she appears to yank out an enemy’s soul through his face.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, which Bethesda announced at E3 2017, will be available Sept. 15 for $29.99 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
