Update (Sept. 19): Amazon has resurrected this PlayStation VR deal, although it’s merely great instead of unbelievable now. The retailer is offering a discount of nearly $100 off a bundle with the headset and camera, dropping the price to $299.99 from $398.09 — just use promo code PSVRSAVE. This time around, though, the deal does not also get you three free PSVR games.
Original story: If you’ve ever been interested in picking up a PlayStation VR headset for your PlayStation 4, you might not want to pass up the great deal that Amazon is offering right now.
Sony usually sells the headset on its own for $399.99; the device requires the PlayStation Camera, which costs an additional $59.99. Amazon is currently selling a bundle of the PSVR headset and its camera for $399.99, which means that buyers are getting the camera for free.
That’s not a bad deal, but Amazon is sweetening the pot with free download codes for three PSVR-exclusive games: PlayStation VR Worlds (regularly $19.99), Rigs: Mechanized Combat League (reg. $29.99) and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (reg. $19.99). That makes for an additional $69.97 of value in this package.
Here’s where the offer becomes perhaps the best deal PSVR we’ve ever seen: If you use the offer code PSVRGAMES, you’ll save $100 on the bundle. That means you get the PSVR headset, the PS4 camera and three games for only $299.99.
There’s no word on how long the deal will last, so if you’re thinking about it, you might want to pull the trigger soon. For more on PSVR, check out our review.
Update (Aug. 11): The bundle is now sold out.
