Publisher Bethesda Softworks has revealed an antagonist for its survival horror game The Evil Within 2. A new story trailer details Stefano Valentini, a homicidal photographer.
The game will take place largely in an alternate dimension called the STEM world populated by hideous creatures. Valentini, according to the trailer’s description, is one of the STEM world’s “human monsters.” The video shows Valentini in his morgue-like darkroom surrounded by grisly photographs and severed limbs.
The trailer’s end shows the game’s pre-order bonus, the “Last Chance Pack,” which contains a burst handgun along with extra supplies for health and crafting.
Bethesda revealed The Evil Within 2 at its E3 press conference in June. Although Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami directed the first The Evil Within title, John Johanas will replace Mikami as the sequel’s director. Mikami chose instead to take on the role of producer for The Evil Within 2 and remains as a supervisor.
The Evil Within 2 launches on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One this October on Friday the 13th.
