Star Wars Battlefront 2's multiplayer spans the entirety of the canon. That means vehicles as well as characters, as seen in its newest trailer, from Gamescom.
Beginning with the familiar X- and Y-Wings and going back to Darth Maul's Infiltrator and the Trade Federation’s fighters, it looks like Battlefront 2 is bringing everything and the kitchen sink to its playable fleet. The capital ships of each period are also involved in the space set pieces.
This trailer is showing off the Starfighter Assault mode of Battlefront 2's multiplayer, which we previewed at E3 a couple of months ago. Matt Webster, the general manager of Criterion Games, said that all of the vessels will handle the same, which allows for the perks and skills a player acquires in multiplayer to be uniformly applied.
Starfighter gameplay will also be a part of Battlefront 2's single-player campaign (which is set in the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, leading into The Force Awakens) and multiplayer ground-assault game types.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 launches Nov. 17 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Electronic Arts will stage a beta of the game from Oct. 4 to Oct. 9.
