A remastered ReCore, the 2016 adventure for Xbox One and Windows PC, is returning Aug. 29 as ReCore: Definitive Edition, Microsoft announced today at its Gamescom 2017 keynote event.
Leaked over the weekend when Microsoft's website let word slip, ReCore: Definitive Edition will feature a new quest, called "Eye of Obsidian," a new robot and new customization options.
In addition, ReCore: Definitive Edition will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers for September.
ReCore comes from Comcept, the studio started by Keiji Inafune after he left Capcom, and Armature Studio, the developer founded by former Retro Studios members. The game caught a lot of attention with a surprise E3 2015 announcement but failed to impress during its 2016 launch, praised for some intriguing fundamental gameplay features but graded down for a vacant open world and collection missions that made it all seem padded-out.
