A Super Famicom-themed New 3DS XL hit stores in Japan last year; no word on whether North America will get an SNES edition of the New 3DS XL, but this one looks lovely. It launches on Oct. 13.
The most recent special-themed New 3DS XL announced for the United States is the Samus Edition, which comes to stores on Sept. 15, which is the same day Metroid: Samus Returns launches. A copy of the game, however, is not included in the bundle.
Just today, Polygon went hands on with another hotly anticipated SNES product, the SNES Classic and published these impressions. That unit launches Sept. 29, with Europe getting a version that resembles the console as it looked there in the 1990s.
