Back in April, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn revealed the movie’s soundtrack, which included a rap about Star-Lord by ‘80s icon David Hasselhoff.
The song was posted on YouTube and Gunn tweeted out the lyrics for those who wanted to memorize the tune. Today, Gunn posted a video (above) on YouTube that stars the director alongside Hasselhoff. In the video, the Hoff is joined by a band called The Sneepers, a reference to an alien band in the Marvel Universe known for their olive-toned skin.
Gunn previously confirmed the music video was in development and would be included as a special feature on the Blu-ray release of the film. For those who may not hae seen the film, Hasselhoff has a special connection to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Star-Lord told Gamora that when he was younger he used to tell kids that Hasselhoff, then the star of NBC’s Baywatch, was his father. In the movie, the conversation comes up after Star-Lord meets his actual father, Ego the Living Planet, for the first time.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be available to download on Aug. 8. The Blu-ray version of the movie will be released on Aug. 22.
