Overwatch Summer Games 2017 skins are here and they’re great

Overwatch’s Summer Games 2017 seasonal event is live, bringing with it a fresh batch of new skins for the game’s heroes. This year’s take on Summer Games sends many of our heroes to the beach for some wet and wild fun, though Blizzard hasn’t forgotten about the “games” part of the theme.

Some of those new Summer Games 2017 skins — like beach-going, barbecuing Soldier: 76 up there, with his “A-salt rifle” — are real good. Here are a few of the other highlights:

Overwatch players will be able to collect the Summer Games 2017 skins starting today, Aug. 8. The event will run until Aug. 29. Blizzard is giving players a chance to secure last year’s Summer Games skins and other cosmetics at a reduced price.

Other characters getting the Summer Games treatment include snorkeling Sombra, cricket Junkrat and lifeguard McCree. Check out those skins — and shots of the new Sydney stadium for Lúcioball — in the gallery below.
