Nintendo will be discussing upcoming Switch and 3DS games during its Nintendo Direct today, and that’s great, but the real excitement is around the promise of new details about Super Mario Odyssey.
Today’s Nintendo Direct will begin at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET, and you can watch the presentation right here. The stream will last around 45 minutes, so there will be plenty of room for surprises.
We may get information on upcoming games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Fire Emblem Warriors and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, but Super Mario Odyssey will likely be the centerpiece of the presentation.
The game was a huge hit at this year’s E3, spawning countless jokes, memes and disturbing thoughts about whether Mario is actually a person or just an empty husk where a man used to be, controlled entirely by the sentient hat on his head. If that’s the case, can he still hear himself scream out for control, or has his soul completely given up?
