Nintendo has a new Poké Ball-inspired New 2DS XL coming in November

We want it now

New Nintendo 2DS XL Poke Ball Edition Nintendo

Nintendo has confirmed that a Poké Ball-inspired 2DS XL will be available to purchase this November.

The 2DS XL, which can be seen in the photo above, has the iconic red front, based on the top of the Poké Ball, while the bottom will take on a white base. The middle of the 2DS XL sticks out a little, giving it the look of an actual Poké Ball ... even if it has a rectangular body.

This isn’t the first time that Nintendo has released a special edition version of its handheld console. There have been other Pokémon clamshells in the past, including an adorable Pikachu-adorned version.

The Pokémon 2DS XL doesn’t have a current price, but other 2DS XL consoles go for $149.99. We expect the Poké Ball version to be in the same ballpark when it goes on sale.

The Poké Ball 2DS XL will be available to purchase on Nov. 3. Nintendo did not address whether pre-orders will be made available beforehand.
