The Black Panther hype is real, and now there are numbers to prove it.

Movie ticket retailer Fandango is reporting that Black Panther holds the record for most pre-sale tickets sold for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The previous record was held by Captain America: Civil War, which was released in May 2016.

Fandango’s managing editor, Erik Davis, made the announcement on Twitter this morning. Davis didn’t say how many pre-tickets were sold, and a follow up press release also didn’t note the exact amount. The pre-sale tickets were available to purchase as of Jan. 8, following a new trailer for the movie, seen above, that debuted during a college football championship game.

Black Panther is riding an incredible wave of momentum right now,” Davis said in the release. “It’s one of the biggest and most anticipated movies to ever open in the month of February, and its trailers have electrified the Internet. Tickets have been going fast ever since pre-sales started on Fandango late Monday.”

While pre-sale tickets don’t always translate to box office success, it is a good indicator of the anticipation level of moviegoers. When Marvel played the Black Panther trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in 2016, the reaction from the crowd was far more enthusiastic than anything else played during the studio’s time in Hall H — including the teaser for Avengers: Infinity War.

Black Panther will be released in theaters on Feb. 16.
