Sledgehammer Games and Activision are running a limited time community event in Call of Duty: WWII called The Resistance starting on Jan. 23. The event will include a new Resistance Division (and accompanying gear), a handful of free weapons, the return of Demolition mode and double XP playlists.
It will also include Prop Hunt mode, as the above trailer so quietly teases.
Here’s how the official Call of Duty website describes Prop Hunt for WWII:
As an underground Resistance fighter, you must master the skill of stealth. In a fun spin, just for this event, you can put your skills to the test in the Prop Hunt game mode, where players on one team must disguise themselves as everyday items strewn throughout the war zone, while the other team is tasked with tracking them down and destroying them. As a fun party mode, we hope you’ll enjoy taking a break from the core modes and try Prop Hunt during this limited-time event playlist.
Based on what we see in the trailer, players will (at the very least) get to play as a bucket.
Prop Hunt has been a fan-favorite mode in games like Garry’s Mod and Team Fortress 2 for years. Traditionally, the mode sees opposing teams play hide and seek — one player will hide, disguised as an object hidden in the environment, while other players will try to hunt that player down. The hunters have to choose their shots carefully, as firing a weapon will deplete their health.
2016’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered included a Prop Hunt mode as well, which was inspired by similar mods for the PC version of Call of Duty 4.
The Resistance event kicks off on Jan. 23, with Prop Hunt serving as a limited-time playlist for the first week. Prop Hunt will also be playable Feb. 20-27.

Update: Added dates for Prop Hunt playlists.
