If you didn’t keep P.T. after downloading it to your PlayStation 4 in 2014, and if you didn’t snag it thanks to this complicated hack later, there may be hope for you yet. A Silent Hills P.T. remake is in the works.
The fan-made remake is in an alpha state, but it is downloadable and playable. Modder SmoggyChips is leading the project, which was created in Unreal Engine 4. Here’s video of it in action (from a developer’s toolkit; the action gets going at the one-minute mark).
P.T. was, of course, short for “playable teaser,” for a Silent Hills reboot. It got caught up in the nasty divorce between Konami and Hideo Kojima, and the larger project was canceled altogether. P.T. was a free download on PlayStation Network from August 2014 until April 2015. Removing it from PSN — and making sure players couldn’t re-download it — only enhanced its appeal — as evidenced by this fan work.
