New Pacific Rim Uprising trailer stars an army of Jaegers

And some terrifying Kaiju

John Boyega is preparing for the fight of his life in Pacific Rim Uprising’s new trailer.

Legendary Entertainment released a new trailer for the movie this morning, making it the first new look at the film since New York Comic Con in October. Pacific Rim Uprising picks up 10 years after Pacific Rim’s Battle of the Breach. The Jaeger program is now Earth’s leading defense force to tackle the Kaiju. Jake Pentecost (Boyega), son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), is brought to the the Jaeger program by his adoptive sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) as they attempt to prepare for the next wave of Kaiju monsters.

The first trailer for the movie featured an inspirational speech from Boyega’s character as they prepare for one of the biggest battles the world has ever seen. The transcript of his speech can be read below:

We were born into a world at war — between the monsters that destroyed our cities, and the monsters we created to stop them. We thought we had sacrificed enough. But the war we though we finished is just beginning, and the only thing standing in front of the apocalypse is us.

But it doesn’t matter where you came from, who believed in you and who didn’t. This is our time, this is our chance to make a difference. Now let’s get it done.

Pacific Rim Uprising will be released on March 23, 2018.
