Dream Daddy to teach PS4 owners how to date-while-daddying

The game’s console debut has more for zaddies to do

Consoles have been in dire need of dating sims, especially ones that are about relationships both romantic and familial. Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator won fans for nailing that rare intersection on PC last year, and now the game is heading to PlayStation 4 to bring its teachings to the rest of us.

Dream Daddy: Dadrector’s Cut follows the premise of the original game: Players’ custom-made, single hot dad woos other bachelor hotties, while still managing to be a good parent to his daughter. New with the console version, however, are added sidequests, previously cut content and another minigame to try out.

Although it’s easy to write off Dream Daddy primarily as a comedy instead of a legitimate dating sim; that it comes from the Game Grumps adds to that. And yes, it is funny. But just as you may fail to see your dad as little more than a vehicle for dad jokes, a repository for coffee and the sole remaining consumer of print newspapers, there’s much more to Dream Daddy than what’s on the surface.

Dream Daddy: Dadrector’s Cut for PS4 is out Oct. 30.
