Today, Blizzard released a slightly lengthier video than previous clips, where we see an actual minifigure instead of just CGI silhouettes. In it, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan assembles a Lego minifigure of Tracer — which promptly comes to life and zooms around the screen.
Tracer’s the first hero actually confirmed for the Lego sets. Considering she’s pretty much the face of the franchise, it’s not really surprising to see her little Lego figure usher in the announcement.
Lego and Blizzard Entertainment announced earlier this year that the heroes of Overwatch would be getting their very own sets. The Overwatch Twitter account previously had a very short first glimpse in the form of a character selection screen video, which hinted at the possibility of Lego Genji, McCree, Mercy, Soldier 76, Reaper (or maybe Zenyatta or Reinhardt) and Widowmaker at the very least.
There is no further information on which heroes will be featured or which locations will be getting their own sets. The Lego line will join the Nerf weapon line (which features D.Va’s Light Gun and Reaper’s Hellfire shotgun) as part of Overwatch’s forays into the toy market.
There is no release date yet for the Lego sets.
