A major element of the Hitman series’ appeal is the setting of each mission — Agent 47 is a globe-trotting assassin who travels to exotic places and blends in with the local population so he can pull off hits without anyone ever knowing he was there. Hitman 2 developer IO Interactive previously announced Miami and the Colombian rainforest as locations that are playable in the game, and on Tuesday the company revealed the other five settings.
In addition to southern Florida and Santa Fortuna, Colombia, Agent 47 will head to Mumbai; the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand; Whittleton Creek in the U.S.; and the Isle of Sgàil somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean. Hitman 2’s story missions take place in those six settings, whereas the Sniper Assassin game mode is set in Himmelstein, Austria. The latter three locations are completely fictional, although as usual, they’re likely inspired by real places. (For what it’s worth, “sgàil” means “shadow” in Irish Gaelic.)

Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
