The Golf Club 2019 adds a free course in first big update

Atlantic Beach Country Club joins the career mode’s rotation

HB Studios/2K Sports

The Golf Club 2019 has added its first free course, and this one is a real-world location, giving it seven, in addition to the thousands users have created and shared for the series.

The new course is the Atlantic Beach Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida, which is home to the Web.com Tour Championship. That’s the tournament where up-and-coming pros compete for placement on the next season’s PGA Tour. The Web.com Tour and its championship are already represented in The Golf Club 2019’s career mode; this patch means that will now take place at its authentic course. HB Studios said Atlantic Beach Country Club will also be in the rotation of courses for the PGA Tour component of the career mode.

The patch, which took effect today, also adds some new character customization options, plus the usual round of bug fixes, optimizations and other quality-of-life improvements. The full patch notes have more.

The Golf Club 2019 launched Aug. 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. We weren’t that enthused about it in our impressions; but it is the only current golf simulation, on consoles or PC, carrying PGA Tour licensing, with real-life PGA Tour courses and events.
