The maximum number of goombas (goombae?) that can be stacked in Super Mario Odyssey, without crashing the Nintendo Switch, is 200. That stack is so high, the game’s camera cannot show the top. Why is that useful knowledge? Because of the moment of pure zen it affords ...
Skelux, a developer and tinkerer, hacked the game to build the stack (which tips over once) and then unleash “the most satisfying ground-pound ever” — all 200 goombas smushed in a row.
It’s like watching a domino creation tip over into oblivion, or the world’s smooshiest zipper unzipping.
Skelux is promising another “large Odyssey hack this month.” We hope it’s at least as serenely destructive as this one.
