Fame is a fickle beast, but The Sims 4 players will be able to pursue that lifestyle in the newest expansion for the game, which Maxis and Electronic Arts announced today.
The Sims 4: Get Famous is incoming as an expansion pack, following the upcoming free patch with the Fashion Influencer career and terrain tools. Get Famous is set to introduce a ton of new features into the world of the Sims, including paparazzi, new careers, the red carpet, tiers of celebrity and the ability to live lavishly with new items for homes.
Fame was a significant mechanic in The Sims 3 via the expansion packs Showtime and Late Night; it’s a popular addition to the franchise among Sims fans, and this expansion pack is one of the most anticipated additions to The Sims 4.
Get Famous is a follow-up to Seasons, which was released on June 22. Seasons was focused on fleshing out the world around Sims, creating holidays and weather that changed throughout the year. Get Famous, on the other hand, puts the spotlight solely on your Sims, giving them new goals and opportunities to progress. Sims will be able to be social media influencers or traditional film and TV stars, and attend exclusive events meant solely for the fabulous and famous. Your Sims can now chase the A-list (while dodging the pitfalls of that lifestyle, like overeager paparazzi and starstruck fans).
Get Famous will also launch with Del Sol Valley, a new fame-oriented city. Similar to Katy Perry’s appearance in The Sims 3, The Sims 4 is partnering with “Aww” singer Baby Ariel, who can appear randomly in public places to give a Simlish performance.
The Sims 4: Get Famous is coming to Mac and Windows PC on Nov. 16.
