Grim Fandango Remastered launched today for Nintendo Switch — Día de los Muertos, appropriately enough — joined by the announcement of a vinyl soundtrack and a Nov. 11 art show in San Francisco.
Grim Fandango Remastered originally launched on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in 2015; today, Double Fine productions (founder Tim Schafer is the game’s creator) announced a 20th anniversary physical edition would be sold in collaboration with iam8bit, which is also behind the soundtrack and art show.
Today’s launch celebrates the 20th anniversary of Grim Fandango on PC (Oct. 28, 1998, to be exact). First published by LucasArts, it’s one of the best games in the point-and-click PC graphical adventure genre that saw its heyday in the mid-to-late 1990s.
The vinyl soundtrack, along with the 20th anniversary PS4 remaster, are available for pre-order now. The art show will premiere Nov. 11 at Day of the Devs at The Midway in San Francisco. It will then show from Nov. 14 to Dec. 31 at PWNshop in Los Angeles. The all-ages show is free.
Grim Fandango Remastered for Nintendo Switch was announced at E3 2018, along with Broken Age, which launched on the console on Sept. 13.
