The fleet-footed Ken Masters of Street Fighter is joining the ever-expanding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate cast as an echo fighter, Nintendo announced during its Smash-focused Direct Thursday morning.
Ken’s costume for this game is inspired by Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and his moveset echos his moves across the series. As Ken as Ryu’s echo fighter (and they both have similar fighting styles in the Street Fighter series), you’ll see only slight differences between their moves. Ken has a different shaped haduken fire ball, his heavy shoryuken uppercut also burns opponents, and his tatsumaki senpuukyaku hurricane kick does more hits than Ryu’s. His hell wheel and focus attack moves are slightly different, and his kicks vary depending on the command input.

Ken has two final smash attacks; one massive uppercut, and a powerful shippu jinraikyaku, a massive burst of his hurricane kick, which mimic his most powerful moves in the game.
The appearance may not be a total surprise to the game’s most rumor hungry fans, after a snapchat post from a French account reportedly showed a banner containing additional characters last week. Those included Ken.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out for Nintendo Switch Dec. 7.
