Smash World is a free Super Smash Bros. Ultimate social app launching in 2019

Smash World will let Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players share their best and worst fights.

Smash World app

During today’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, the publisher announced Smash World, a supplementary service for the upcoming fighting game. Smash World will be accessible through the Nintendo Switch Online app on smartphones and tablets.

Unlike many apps for competitive multiplayer games, the app won’t focus on displaying win/loss records. Instead, the service will allow players to upload and view gameplay videos. Other features of the service have not been announced, but Nintendo says Smash World will receive updates post-launch.

Players will also be able to use the Nintendo Online app to talk both while competing and as a spectator. Smash World will be available in 2019 as a free service. To learn more, read everything we know about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so far.
