Incineroar, the fire-type Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Sun and Moon, is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo showed off the buff cat-wrestler during today’s Nintendo Direct, which is all about December’s Switch game, as well as announcing Street Fighter’s Ken, aka Ryu’s echo fighter.
Incineroar’s inclusion makes sense. The final evolution of the starter Pokémon Litten, Incineroar is a dark- and fire-type that is all about beating the crap out of other Pokémon. Its fighting style is based on pro-wrestling moves, as Nintendo mentioned during the presentation.
Among Incineroar’s moves is Dark Lariat, a unique move that is exclusive to the Pokémon. It’s also got a ton of wrestling-inspired moves, like Revenge and its Final Smash. That attack is Max Malicious Moonsault, and it involves Incineroar throwing other fighters against the edge of a ring that suddenly appears.
Incineroar is also the very last fighter that Nintendo included on the roster, making it number 74 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We’ve got a lot of punching dudes now, if you’re into that.
Maybe that final number comes as a bit of a surprise to anyone following leaks in recent weeks — but that’s already the biggest roster of any Smash Bros. to date. For more, check out everything we know.
