Nintendo Switch eShop has a stellar week, from Pokémon to Civ 6

Two franchises make their Nintendo Switch debut

Pokémon: Let’s Go! is one of the stars of Nintendo’s holiday lineup, but for those who aren’t so much into the classic JRPG franchise, there’s plenty else going on this week. Nintendo Switch eShop’s update bring several games with recognizable names, from Sid Meier’s Civilization and Warframe.

The big highlight is Let’s Go!, of course; it’s the first full entry in the mega-series developed exclusively for a console. It has its pros and cons, per our review, but it’s still an excellent Pokémon game worth your attention. Both Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! editions go live on eShop Nov. 16.

Civilization 6 has garnered widespread acclaim since its launch on PCs in 2016. It’s since made a successful transition to mobile; its iOS version launched nearly a year ago. Now, the latest member of the major turn-based strategy game series is making its console debut. A Nintendo Switch port will be on sale Nov. 16, and it will include all previously released updates. There will also be four more civilizations, leaders and scenarios to choose from.

Warframe, a game that took us some serious time to fall for — four years after its initial release — is the latest free-to-play online game to head over onto Nintendo Switch. It’s a co-op sci-fi action game, all centered around collecting armor and weapons for your ninja-like super-soldier. That’s out Nov. 20.

The rest of the list is wonderfully diverse as well, with several card games and a port of that strange YouTubers Life simulation game. This one’s called the OMG Edition, which, OMG. I think I wanna try it out? Check everything else that’s new below.
