Mass Effect will cameo in Anthem thanks to a set of N7 armor a BioWare producer showed off Wednesday evening on Twitter.
BioWare’s Michael Gamble, lead producer on Anthem, was celebrating “N7 Day,” the unofficial Mass Effect holiday (Nov. 7, of course). The tweet shows an N7 Javelin (that’s the codename for the battle suit players wear in Anthem) hanging around in Fort Tarsis, the game’s hub area. It’s not clear if or how this suit will be available to players once the game launches.

Last week, Gamble and fellow lead producer Ben Irving held a livestream showing about 45 minutes of gameplay in Anthem. The playthrough divulged some heretofore unknown features about the game, which launches Feb. 22, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Anthem will operate around the traditional “trinity” of MMO classes — tank, healer and damage — and offer public events throughout the open world.
Mass Effect remains a series beloved by fans even if its last entry, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was something of a thud. Anthem is set in a totally new canon, but in some ways is a comeback bid for BioWare, which needs a big hit following Andromeda’s disappointing showing.
