Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer gives every titan a moment

Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah join Godzilla in the ultimate brawl

The latest trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters shows off even more kaiju action.

The direct sequel to 2014’s Godzilla revives the title creature while adding most of the famous kaiju from the original Godzilla movies: Mothra (a giant moth), Rodan (a pteranodon-like creature) and Godzilla’s ultimate nemesis, the three-headed dragon-esque King Ghidorah.

In addition to the new monsters, the latest Godzilla sequel stars Vera Farminga as paleo-biologist Dr. Emma Russell and Millie Bobby Brown as her daughter Madison, who feels a connection with Mothra. Returning from the first movie are Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins as two scientists from Monarch, the cryptozoology society dedicated to combating giant kaiju — dubbed “Titans” for this movie.

Monarch ends up kidnapping Dr. Russell and Madison, probably because Dr. Russell’s figured out how to communicate with these formidable creatures.

This new trailer shows more of Monarch’s determination to band with some of the more amiable Titans.

“So you’d want to make Godzilla our pet?” asks a doubtful world leader.

“No. We would be his,” replies Ken Watanabe’s character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters comes out May 31, 2019. The movie is a planned second act to a trilogy, which will conclude with Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020.
