Valve released a list of the best-selling games of 2018 on Steam today, some of which are discounted as part of the PC games retail portal’s winter sale.

Among its “platinum” sellers — the 12 games that returned the most revenue in 2018 — only three were released this year. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ($29.99), Far Cry 5 ($23.99) and Monster Hunter: World ($39.59), this year’s platinum releases, are currently discounted.

Steam’s list includes free-to-play games, which yield revenue through in-game purchases. It also counts DLC purchases toward revenues accrued by their host games. Here are the other nine, which are all currently discounted by between 33 percent and 70 percent.

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (2012)
  • Dota 2 (2013)
  • Warframe (2013)
  • The Elder Scrolls Online (2014)
  • Grand Theft Auto 5 (2015 on Windows PC)
  • Rainbow Six Siege (2015)
  • Rocket League (2015)
  • Civilization 6 (2016)
  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (2017)

Among its 12 “gold”-level sellers, two new games featured: Jurassic World Evolution ($13.74) and Kingdom Come Deliverance ($29.99). The others include some 2017 games, including Total War: Warhammer 2, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Dead by Daylight, all of which are on sale right now.

The silver and bronze levels (the 25th to the 100th best-sellers) also feature a lot of games first released some years ago. They are also discounted, and include:

  • Garry’s Mod (2004)
  • Team Fortress 2 (2007)
  • The Sims 3 (2009)
  • Crusader Kings 2 (2012)
  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 (2012)
  • The Forest (2014)

Newer releases at that level include the following deals for games Polygon rate as well-worth playing:

  • Ni No Kuni 2 ($29.99)
  • Raft ($15.99)
  • Scum ($14.99)
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider ($29.99)
  • Subnautica ($18.74)
  • Surviving Mars ($20.99)
  • Two Point Hospital ($27.99)
  • Thrones of Britannia ($26.79)

Steam also announced its top-selling new games for each month of 2018, which are also on sale. Eye-catching deals include games featured in Polygon’s favorite games of the year including Celeste ($15.99), Into the Breach ($10.04), Return of the Obra Dinn ($19.99) and Hitman 2 ($37.99), as well as The Council ($14.99) and Yakuza 0 ($13.39).
