The first trailer for Avengers 4 came with two pretty big reveals. First, that the title of the movie is Avengers: Endgame. And second, that we’re getting the movie earlier than we thought.
For years, or what feels like years, anyway, Avengers: Endgame has been pinned to May 3, 2019, a traditional first-weekend-in-May opening for the summer’s biggest Marvel Cinematic Movie release. Now, its new trailer ends on a single enigmatic word: April.
Marvel later confirmed a more specific date: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.

This release date shuffle also happened with Endgame’s predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. On Mar. 1, Disney announced that the movie would be leaping forward a week from May 4 to Apr. 27 — likely to give the company’s Solo: A Star Wars Story a little more distance from “the biggest crossover in history.”
Avengers: Endgame’s new release date will also keep it a healthy seven weeks from Captain Marvel, the next MCU movie, due out on March 8. It’ll also keep it a polite three weeks from the release of Warner Bros. Shazam.
The new trailer may have given us a title, but it sure has raised some other questions.
