Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds gets tense in the final moments of each round, as players are funneled into one small area and are forced to do battle in order to become the last player — or team — standing. The video above begins as a standard document of one of those rounds, but then becomes something amazing when the last surviving player is revealed.
He’s right over there. On the ground. Naked. Crawling towards destiny. Living his best life, before it’s snuffed out in a blaze of glory. He’s just happy to be here in the final circle, to be alive with no clothes and no hope of winning, but content with the knowledge that he has done something amazing. He chooses to die by his own hand, but his legend will continue forever. He is the best of us.
It’s worth noting how hard that accomplishment had to have been. To survive that long, crawling around naked, seemingly without weapons ... he won just be showing up to the final moments of the match.
Some say that player is still out there, crawling around without pants, ready to die, and just happy he made it this far. That player is humanity on a Friday afternoon, and I’m so happy to share this video with you.
