Microsoft announces $299.99 Xbox One S PUBG bundle

A good price for a big game

Microsoft announced a new Xbox One S bundle that comes with a copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, two weeks of Xbox Live and a code for a monthlong trial of the Xbox Game Pass for $299.99. The bundle will be released on Feb. 20.

This is everything you get in the bundle, according to Microsoft:

  • An Xbox One S with a 1 TB hard drive
  • Xbox Wireless Controller
  • Full-game download of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
  • one-month Xbox Live Gold trial
  • one-month Xbox Game Pass trial

PUBG is the perfect game to bundle with Xbox hardware at the moment, as it’s one of the few exclusives the company has that puts it over the competition.

“Since its release as a console launch exclusive on Xbox One in the Xbox Game Preview program, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has reached incredible milestones, most recently surpassing 4 million players across the Xbox One family of devices,” Microsoft stated on Major Nelson’s blog.

$299.99 is a decent price for the combination of hardware and software, but it’s a bit puzzling that there isn’t a similar bundle for the more powerful Xbox One X. Microsoft did offer a free copy of the game with an Xbox One X hardware purchase during the 2017 holiday season, but that promotion has since expired.
