This year’s Evo fighting game tournament will feature eight games as part of its official lineup, including fan favorites Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7 and Super Smash Bros. Melee, organizers announced today. Tournament co-founder Joey “MrWizard” Cuellar confirmed the Evo 2018 lineup during a Twitch stream hosted by Mark “MarkMan” Julio this evening.
The Evo 2018 lineup includes many returning favorites, as well as new games, including Arc System Works’ BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Interestingly, the newest BlazBlue won’t be released until June in North America, which doesn’t leave players much time to practice for Evo. Also notable is that a major fighting game released in 2017, Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, will not be featured.
Here’s this year’s confirmed lineup:
- Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition
- Tekken 7
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
- Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2
- Injustice 2
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
Cuellar also confirmed the five games that will be featured on finals day on Sunday: Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition.
Evo 2018 will take place Aug. 3-5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
