The Nintendo Switch seems like the perfect console — until you’re trying to play Doom with those tiny Joy-Cons and your hands are cramping while you’re getting swarmed. Joy-Con motion controls are impressive in their own right, but they’re not exactly ergonomically designed. Serious gamers might invest in a Pro Controller, but that $69.99 price tag makes it one of the more expensive console gamepads on the market.

Now, thanks to 8Bitdo, you can just hook up a PlayStation DualShock 4 controller and go to town on some demons.

The 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter allows you to pair various wireless controllers to other systems with no lag time. The packaging indicates that it’s “for PC, Mac, [Rasberry Pi] and Switch.” 8Bitdo is known for its retro-inspired Bluetooth controllers, so of course this adapter is compatible with 8Bitdo products. According to the Wireless USB Adapter product page, it will also pair with PS3 and PS4 DualShock controllers, as well as Nintendo Wii Remotes, Joy-Cons and Pro Controllers.

While all of the controllers that are compatible with the Wireless USB Adapter can be paired to many devices via Bluetooth, the prospect of using the familiar and comfortable DualShock controllers on more robust Switch games, especially fighting games, is exciting news. It might also be able to solve lag issues when pairing to a PC. According to the Amazon reviews, the 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter is an “input latency killer.” Plus, it’s super cute — the adapter looks like Super Mario bricks down to the 8-bit clouds on the packaging.

There are USB adapters on the market that serve similar functions at a comparable price point — Nexilux’ Game Genie for example — but 8Bitdo’s excellent track record when it comes to peripherals, not to mention the fun Super Mario-inspired design, make this one particularly appealing. It’s available now at Amazon for $19.99.
