Far Cry 5 releases on Tuesday, but if you’re eager to see how it ends, worry not, because we’ve got the final scene of the game right here. Well, sorta!
The game kicks off with a squad of US Marshals serving a warrant to arrest Jacob Seed, the leader of a Montana-based cult. In fact, the very first scene of the game has you walking into Seed’s church to slap the cuffs on him. After some brief dialog, you’re instructed to do just that.
But ... what if you don’t? After all, Seed does proclaim, “God will not let you take me.” Maybe he’s right?
If you decide to wait it out, there will be some bickering among your squad, along with some more creepy statements from Seed. Finally, after about a minute and a half, a new scene will play out. Seems that the local sheriff agrees with your hesitance and starts walking out. “You put those cuffs on him, none of us get out of here alive,” he says. Yeah, probably right on the money, bro. The moment you leave the church, the credits roll. Congrats, you finished Far Cry 5!
After the credits, you’ll be able to reload your last checkpoint, thereby opting to arrest Seed and kick off the real story of the game.
This cute easter egg harkens back to a similar one in Far Cry 4, which let you skip right to the credits if you waited patiently in the main bad guy’s lair for a while.
