Watch Carrie Fisher slap Oscar Isaac dozens of times in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

“You’re demoted.”

Months before the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Oscar Isaac shared a single detail of the shoot while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It was a joy to work with Carrie Fisher, he said, right from the start — even if things got painfully physical on day one.

On the very first day of shooting, the two actors filmed a scene where Fisher was called upon to slap him. And, in the process of getting the shot just right, our wonderful space princess slapped him across the face more than two dozen times, he told Colbert.

Now, thanks to a new video full of Last Jedi bloopers, revealed by Entertainment Weekly, we can see that she actually slapped him more than 40 times. It’s brutal — and it’s also breathtaking. To be fair, Poe deserved it.

Although maybe not “40 times” deserved it.

Keep watching the video above for silly antics with more of the crew, including Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran and a special surprise from BB-8.
