The newest map in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which is now being called Codename: Savage, is going to be revealed in a few short days with the map’s first private alpha test, developer PUBG Corp. announced today.
Unlike the two existing PUBG maps, which are both 8 km by 8 km, Savage will be the game’s first 4 km by 4 km map, creating the conditions for a much more intense and fast-paced game. Little else has been revealed about the map, outside of a few screenshots that make it look like it’s set in a jungle.
PUBG Corp. said today this is the earliest it has ever released content to the public, something the studio is trying in hopes of getting better feedback throughout the map development process. Because the map is in such an early alpha state, PUBG Corp. will only make the first test available to a limited number of players.
The initial test period will run from 7 p.m. PT on Monday, April 2, to 4 a.m. PT on Thursday, April 5. PUBG Corp. has yet to officially announce how players can get in to the map’s alpha test, but according to the post, more details will be available Monday.
