Overkill’s The Walking Dead shows its newest character, meet her here

Maya rides out the outbreak in probably the worst place imaginable

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is still a thing, folks. Originally announced in 2014, slated for a 2016 launch and delayed twice, it’s back again with some more promotional materials. Here’s a trailer for Maya, the second of four playable characters to be revealed.

Maya gets caught in about the worst place to be during the outbreak: A hospital. This is pure cinematic, so don’t expect to see much about her play type within it. The video is mainly a reminder that the game is still on the way, probably because the last trailer we saw was exactly four months ago, for Aiden, the first character to be revealed.

In Overkill’s The Walking Dead, the four characters forming the multiplayer co-op shooter all have special abilities, skill trees and roles on the team. Maya is billed as a former surgeon who can keep her teammates alive, tipping off that she may be the support class of the bunch.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead, from the studio behind the Payday franchise, is coming sometime this fall to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. But if they’re announcing one character every four months, we won’t see the last one until December.
