Attack on Titan’s third season starts streaming this summer

Watch the first trailer

Attack on Titans third season will stream later this year, Funimation announced today.

The first trailer for the season can be seen above. Season three will debut in Japan this July, according to Funimation, and will roll out in the United States around the same time. The second season premiered in April 2017, and was available to stream in North America almost right after. A Funimation representative told Polygon the plan is to make it available for North American audiences around the same time that Japanese audiences get it, but there’s no exact premiere date yet.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing back Attack on Titan for its third season in 2018 and on the heels of the series’ long awaited and exciting return last year,” Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation, said in a press release. “Everyone is anxious to see what’s in store for the new season. Fans have been clamoring with non-stop speculation ever since Wit Studio released a Season 3 teaser poster last October. We will all soon find out later this year.”

The new season promises more human-on-human fighting than we’ve seen in previous seasons, but the titans will still play an important role in the story.
