Marvel Studios has released the latest trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp, the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, giving us a great look at the movie’s ensemble cast — and its mysterious villain.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will return us to the lives of Scott Lang (who we last saw in Captain America: Civil War) and his compatriots Hope Van Dyne and her father Hank Pym (who we last saw in Ant-Man), and even Michael Peña’s Luis and his crack team of burglars.
But if you’re hoping to get some followup on Avengers: Infinity War, you’re out of luck: Ant-Man and the Wasp is set before the Avengers’ big throw down with Thanos. Last we saw of Scott before Infinity War, he had gone home to be with his family rather than join Captain America’s team of underground superheroes.
Now, apparently, Hope and Hank need him back in the suit. And Hope finally has her own superhero suit as the Wasp, Ant-Man’s long-time superhero partner in the comics. The movie’s villain — or at least its antagonist — is the phase-shifting corporate saboteur and hacker, Ghost, played by Hannah John-Kamen; and Michelle Pfeiffer is also joining the cast as Hank’s presumed-dead wife, and the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne.
Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters on July 6.
