Warner Bros.’ Teen Titans Go! To The Movies official trailer is a crackfic come to life, and that’s what makes it wonderful.
The trailer starts with a pretty good joke about Alfred being Batman’s most important and interesting sidekick, before diving into a very, very good jab at Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern. Anyone who’s watched an episode of Teen Titans Go! knows that it’s a plainly ridiculous show that both celebrates and satirizes modern superhero culture.
This trailer definitely delivers on the ridiculous goofs that longtime fans of the show will appreciate, but seems to incorporate new material based on modern DC superhero movies. That means Superman and Batman will make an appearance, but they’ll be much different from Zack Snyder’s grittier versions of the characters. Hopefully, this will be a much needed improvement on Green Lantern — sorry, Ryan.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, which is being directed by Teen Titans Go! writers Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, will be released on July 27.
