Tom Holland is really bad about spoiling Marvel movies

It takes Doctor Strange to stop Spider-Man from spoiling things

You sign up for a lot of responsibilities when you act in a major franchise, and part of your job is to keep your mouth shut about what happens in each movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Tom Holland is really bad at that, and it’s pretty endearing ... even if Marvel probably doesn’t find it as cute as we do.

It probably shouldn’t have to be said because this post is about spoilers, but just to be safe:

[Warning: This post contains major spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.]

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the time Tom Holland spoiled Infinity War during an appearance at a screening before the audience saw the movie.

There was the time he spoiled what seems to be a minor detail about Spider-Man’s actions ... but you can see actual panic in his eyes when he quickly covers his mouth and asks if the broadcast is live. He then frets about getting in trouble. Here is a supercut of Benedict Cumberbatch working very hard to keep Holland from giving away plot details:

A promotional video released by Marvel about not sharing spoilers goes a step forward, making a very quick but very funny meta-joke by showing Tom Holland with his mouth taped shut.

This is, if you’ll excuse the pun, kids’ stuff. Mark Ruffalo ruined the ending of Infinity War to Good Morning America a year ago. Watching Don Cheadle get increasingly nervous is the best part of this clip.

On behalf of the fans, I’d like to thank everyone in the film who is not Mark Ruffalo or Tom Holland for keeping spoilers out of the discussion. The courageous work their co-stars do in trying to shut them up should be neither ignored, nor forgotten.

For now, maybe the loose-lipped actors should stay alone. Together.

Just a couple of spoilers #avengersinfinitywar #thanosdemandsyoursilence
