The newest entry in the Superhot universe will be inspired by Japan, developer GameTomo announced today. According to the Japanese studio’s website, the game is currently codenamed Superhot JP and will feature much of the same gameplay that helped make the original Superhot a success. GameTomo says the environments will reflect their region: “Battle the red guys in a variety of Japan-inspired environments, from hot springs to samurai castles, from seedy Tokyo alleyways to karaoke bars and bullet trains.”
While this isn’t a direct sequel to Superhot, GameTomo are calling it an “alternate story campaign.” The original Superhot, created by the Superhot Team, has expanded with Superhot VR and the early access version of Superhot: Mind Control Delete.
Superhot JP has no official release date, but GameTomo says it will release first in Japan, “then possibly other countries worldwide.”
