Destiny 2’s next raid lair launches next week

The Spire of Stars will be our final foray into the Leviathan

Bungie/Activision

In an information round-up about its upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, Warmind, Bungie announced that the game’s next raid lair challenge will go live for players on Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. PT. Players who purchase the Warmind expansion will have three days to prepare themselves for Bungie’s latest challenge.

Spire of Stars will be Destiny 2’s second raid lair, following Eater of Worlds, which launched only days after the Curse of Osiris expansion last December. Raid lairs are a new concept introduced in Destiny 2 that involve players tackling smaller raid-type exercises and a single boss encounter within the same location as the larger raid.

Destiny 2’s first full raid, Leviathan, took place on the main level of the giant Cabal ship. Eater of Worlds took players into the belly of the ship and fleshed out the Vex, who served as the primary enemies in Curse of Osiris. While Bungie is being secretive about Spire of Stars, players have reason to believe that they’ll be going up the Leviathan this time and that the Hive will be its main antagonists.

Players will have to wait and find out for themselves when Destiny 2: Warmind launches May 8 for Playstation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
