World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is getting a new vendor mount. The Reigns of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is a giant brontosaurus with a portable auction house on its back — a first for World of Warcraft. But this new mount will cost players a cool five million gold, which has a real-world value of $475.
The on-demand auction house is a huge plus for most players, as a faction’s capital city —Stormwind for the Alliance and Orgrimmar for the Horde — is one of the only locations where players can buy and sell goods. Having one of these player markets available on-demand could be a total game-changer for the gold-makers of WoW.
But five million gold is quite a price to pay, even for the kings of the World of Warcraft economy. For example, the Reigns of the Grand Expedition Yak vendor mount — which comes with a vendor who can change the look of your items anywhere you are — only costs 120,000 gold.

However, thanks to the addition of WoW Tokens, players are able to buy game time for World of Warcraft and sell it on the auction house for in-game gold. In the US, these tokens cost $20 each and, as of this writing, sell for 210,505 gold. Assuming a player has zero gold, they would need to buy 24 WoW Tokens to afford the The Reigns of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.
The brutosaur is designed after some Zandalari dinosaurs — beasts you can find roaming around one of the expansion’s new continents when World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is released on Aug. 14 for Windows and Mac.
