When The Sims 3’s development came to a close to make room for The Sims 4, some fans were unsure whether making the switch was worth it. The main reason for that uncertainty was the rich library of expansion packs released for The Sims 3, which turned the game into a whole new experience. One of the most popular expansion packs in The Sims’ history as a franchise is Seasons, which introduces the four seasons and assorted weather to the world. Seasons is coming to The Sims 4 as the game’s next expansion pack on June 22 on Mac and Windows PC, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

First of all, there’s the impactful weather you would expect from an expansion pack all about seasons. Not only will there be the transition between fall, winter, spring, and summer, but you can also expect blistering hot days, heavy snowfall, and rainstorms to hit.

With these new days come new seasonal activities. In the winter, Sims might be itching to make a snow angel, whereas in spring they want to splash in a rain puddle. There will also be the opportunity to celebrate holidays, which is perfect for those family oriented Sims looking to get in some quality time.

The biggest change that players can actively pursue is the expansion of the gardening system, which is a career of its own now with paths to choose from. Sims can go into a scientific branch, being more of a botanist than a humble gardener ... or they can go deep into the traditional gardening path and focus on planting and harvesting.
