PUBG’s new event mode is all about ghillie suits and crossbows

Get ready for a whole lot of sneaking

It’s time for another event mode in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and this time, the game is asking players to be a little stealthier than normal with the Ghillie Crossing mode.

Ghillie Crossing takes all guns and vehicles out of PUBG entirely, and replaces them with crossbows and melee weapons only. Alongside these weapons are regular items like grenades, health items and attachments, as well as ghillie suits, which, for the first time, will be a regular loot item in this mode.

Other changes for Ghillie Crossing include redzones and care packages being disabled, and the first safe zone always spawning near the middle of the map. Ghillie Crossing will only take place on the Erangle map and will always use the “sunny” weather setting.

Ghillie Crossing will be available starting today, May 24, at 10 p.m. ET, and will stay up on the servers until Sunday, May 27, at 10 p.m. ET. The new event mode will be available in most regions in both third- and first-person perspectives, and will be playable in squads only.
