New Ant-Man and the Wasp teaser brings some joy back to the MCU

You’ve got to make a list

Ant-Man and the Wasp, out in July, takes place just after Captain America: Civil War, and a long time before Avengers: Infinity War.

That means Thanos hasn’t collected every single Infinity Stone and, well, the world’s a much happier place than it is in Infinity War, all things considered. A new teaser for Ant-Man and the Wasp promises to try and lighten the current Marvel Cinematic Universe’s reality. Think less shocking emotional moments, and more classic Paul Rudd jokes.

There’s some new footage in the clip that will appease Ant-Man diehards, but the biggest takeaway is just how light-hearted the teaser makes the movie appear. A big chunk of the teaser is Scott Lang (Ant-Man) listing how he and the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) will track down Ghost, the new villain threatening Earth’s very existence.

“If you’re gonna do something right, you make a list,” Lang says in the clip. “Two, we’re gonna have to fight Ghost. Three, we’re gonna track down Ghost ... that seems like it should be part of two — 2A. Oh, and we’ve gotta save the world! That’s major.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp may not be everyone’s most anticipated Marvel movie (anyone who’s seen Infinity War is probably waiting for Avengers 4 with bated breath), but it looks like it will re-introduce a fun, silly and light-hearted action flick we need right now. It’s the palate cleanser we all deserve.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released on July 6.
