Destiny 2 players wasted hours grinding for glitched reward

You weren’t the only player who didn’t get the exclusive

Destiny 2 is a game that’s all about grinding for gear, and the latest Nightfall strike offered the D.F.A. as a reward. It’s one of the best hand cannons in the game, and fans were pretty excited about playing the strike until one dropped for them. Heck, one of our writers played for hours and wrote an exasperated post about how the gun probably didn’t exist as a reward.

It turns out he was right.

Bungie has since stated that the rewards were bugged, and weren’t dropping like they were supposed to. For anyone. No matter how many times you tried. Whoops!

There are people, like our own Ryan Gilliam, who spent a whole lot of time grinding for that weapon, and it turns out the time was wasted. Fans have some thoughts, to put it gently.

We’ve reached out to Bungie to see how they plan on making this right for players who spent a lot of time grinding for a reward that never came. It’s a tough situation: If you give it to everyone, you devalue the weapon. If you don’t, it makes it hard for players to trust you when a reward for future challenges doesn’t seem to drop.

We’ll update the story when we hear back.
