Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the newest title in the franchise, was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2018 conference, and will bring a couple of new characters to the series for the first time — including Daisy.
The Sarasaland princess has been in Mario games since 1989 — she debuted in Super Mario Land for Game Boy — and appears in nearly every Mario sports and Mario Party game since then. Now she can get violent and really duke it out with her allies.
In the trailer, it appears that Daisy is an “echo fighter” to Princess Peach, meaning that they use very similar move sets with small differences. (Think Pit and Dark Pit from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.)
Daisy has technically been in Super Smash Bros. before, but only as a trophy. Peach also had alternate colors, where she sports Daisy’s brown hair and yellow dress, in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. However, before Ultimate, she has never truly been playable.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is coming to Nintendo Switch on Dec. 7.
